The NSTA powers include the ability to consider formally a range of disputes that occur within the upstream oil & gas industry and try to bring about a collaborative solution by making a recommendation to the parties that will assist in resolving such disputes.

Companies who want to participate in the exploitation of the UK’s oil and gas resources need (among other things) a Production Licence granted by the NSTA.
