The OGA wishes to thank all those who participated in the first UK/Norway Joint Technology Hackathon on Wednesday, 22 November.
The successful hackathon event, which welcomed over 110 delegates to Aker Solutions in Aberdeen, was a major North Sea effort to harness potential new value adding technologies to directly enhance and extend late life production and follow through to cost-saving approaches to decommissioning.
Delegates listened to challenges presented from AkerBP, ConocoPhillips, Point Resources, Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Limited, Shell and Statoil – which was followed by interactive group sessions to discuss potential solutions.
Hundreds of ideas where explored throughout the day, and following the second event Stavanger next week, a detailed output report will be shared and used to develop an actionable forward plan for the industry.
We would also like to thank ITF, NORWEP and the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy for their support in this event.
